Deformation behaviour of a Swiss soft clay

Abstract:

The response of soft varved lacustrine clays in field and laboratory investigations has been explored and characterised. A range of stress paths have been investigated in a triaxial apparatus to determine the location and shape of the yield locus insitu and response to subsequent loading excursions.
